We partnered with Arraiy to deliver AI-based real-time VFX solutions

The combined solution provides integrated real-time tracking, matting, and compositing.

Pixotope (formerly The Future Group), a provider of live photorealistic virtual production systems, and Arraiy, a provider of computer vision and machine learning solutions, today announced a collaboration to deliver AI-based real-time VFX solutions for broadcast and entertainment.

Pixotope™ live virtual production system with native Unreal™ rendering will be integrated with Arraiy’s DeepTrack AI-based camera tracking, to deliver a complete software-based real-time VFX solution.

The integrated solution will offer users the most advanced virtual production toolset on the market today, with a sub-pixel accurate camera and object tracking, plus powerful workflow tools designed to improve overall efficiency. Both products will be offered as software subscriptions and are designed to run on powerful commodity hardware.

In the last quarter of 2019, Arraiy will release DeepMatte (real-time matting without green screen) and DeepDepth (real-time z-depth extraction and occlusion solving), both of which will also be integrated into Pixotope™. Using these revolutionary add-on products, the combined solution will open up new creative possibilities for virtual production, delivering more efficient workflows and simpler-to-use toolsets for operators and designers.

“In Arraiy we have found a partner that shares our vision of what the Media and Entertainment industry will look like in the months and years to come. Their machine learning-based tools will change how people create and capture visual effects, and together we will change what media and advertising will look like in the near future,” says Halvor Vislie, CEO, of Pixotope (former The Future Group).

Mark Tobin, CEO of Arraiy agrees: We are excited to partner with Pixotope and believe that together we have a truly innovative 100% software-based solution for virtual production. Our products are completely synergistic, and together we can enable our customers to make new and innovative real-time content without the burden of huge capital requirements. DeepTrack is fully compatible with Pixotope providing a seamless experience for our customers.”

Pixotope™ and DeepTrack will be shown working together on The Future Group’s stand (SU 12702) at the NAB exhibition in Las Vegas (8th to 11th April), with representatives from both companies on hand to answer questions.
